Well, Pixel Junk Monsters came out Thursday, and, it's pretty awesome.... Seriously, the game is like, "Oh, just let me try this..." next thing you know it's hours later... I was up until 6 playing last night, heh. And of course not only is it awesome, but there's a co-op mode which is great too... It's just the same levels but with two people running around doing stuff, but that doesn't make it any less fun... For the unaware, it's a tower defense game, Some details here... Woo. Anyone else have/play it yet? ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
Heh, that looks pretty sweet. Good to know developers are still making titles that hearken back to the old days of gaming. It seems like it runs really smoothly. Too bad cannot afford ~_~
Can't afford?.. The game is only $8 at the moment. (For a limited time, probably means it'll be $10 later on, possibly higher, maybe $15 or something, I don't know.)... Although of course you're probably talking about the PS3, but, what can you do. (Except hope for a price drop to $299). Anyway I just finished medium, except for the special one because I need five perfects to get to it, and currently only have two... So woo... At least it gives me a good stopping point for the night, heh. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
Currently playing this however not progressing fast as I can't stop playing a stage til I perfect it. Its addictive as hell though. Hours just seem to dissappear!
PSN vs. XBLA downloadable games survey in response to Peter Dille: Gaming Target recently did a survey of the exclusive downloadable games on both the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Arcade to see which one has a larger collection of exclusives. The survey was conducted in response to a comment made by SCEA Head of Marketing Peter Dille. Dille, who voiced some pretty strong opinions about the Xbox 360 during E3, also said (in the same interview with Gamasutra):Whereas our competition takes a bunch of old content and catalogs content from previous generations and offers that in a download fashion, our development organization are making games specifically for PS3.Because of the remark and requests from readers, Gaming Target did the exclusive games survey of the two networks. They excluded the Wii because the games they offer aren't technically exclusive since they were released on other consoles before. They found out that XBLA offers almost three times that of the PlayStation Network, including still unreleased games on both networks. Not only did they find that XBLA has more offerings in games, but they found that almost half of the available games have a Metascore (average score from critics) of 75 or over, while the PSN only has three out of their eleven release games that achieved that rank. Before Everyday Shooter and Pixel Junk Racers, that's pretty old... Also I don't see Tekken on that list. Anyway don't turn this thread into a console wars thread, the point is that Pixel Junk Monsters is awesome, not to say one console is better or whatever. Wayan: I know, it's like what the crap, where did that time go? Fnord. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
so did you guys hear about how xbla size limitations are causing problems for Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix development? http://kotaku.com/350621/xbla-limits-are-problematic-for-street-fighter-2-turbo-hd-remix
You do realize the limit was at one time only 50mb and MS expanded it. If they expanded it once, they could always do it again....it's not like there's some definite unfixable problem that would prevent SSF2THDR from ever hitting the XBLA.
It could mean that they may have to take things out for the xbla version. All I know is that psn doesn't have these size limitations so I felt that posting this news would support my previous post.
who really cares anyway? I just felt like posting that I thought psn was better than xbla so I did. If it upsets you then you yourself may be a fanboy. It just makes for good forum discussion. Calm down.
Fanboy? Because I'm tired of people bickering over which console is better then the other? Suck a cock.
imo console war discussions only turn to shit once somebody starts saying things like shut the fuck up and suck a cock. Good job ruining the thread dipshit.
Kickenwing: Did you not see my post where I specifically said not to turn this into a console war? And then you followed by posting something COMPLETELY UNRELATED to the topic at hand, and only related to, that's right, the "console war" that I said to not use this thread for.. If you want to discuss PSN vs. XBLAH, make a new thread for it. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
Woo, I played some more (after pretty much constant Rogue Galaxy for a few weeks), now I'm into hard, I have Hard 4 and 5 left to beat, then the two blocked off levels after that... I haven't tried Hard 4 yet (The spiraly one), but Hard 5, holy crap.... I wasn't even able to get the first wave perfect after a couple tries (I only tried a couple times, but, yeah), then I managed to get through mostly alright, right until the Boss stage... And they send two bosses at you, I was like crap, with the snow/ice-ness of the level, I just didn't have time (or quite enough money) to get enough cannons built to kill even one of them... Of course the level would be much easier if you had gems, to get some useful towers, some more upgraded towers, or use some remote mines for the bosses, but, since you don't get gems (except like one from a random tree if you're lucky), yeah. However, in co-op mode that level would be great. Fnord. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
