This is an interesting barometer on the level of hype/interest The Avengers is rolling with: Avengers and The Dark Knight are going toe-to-toe it seems. I guess a lot of people out there really love that old 60s UK TV show, Jim.
How many million times did you alone download the trailer, Sketch? I'm guessing 1 of those millions is just you. Seriously, though. Are those unique downloads or just total. Because Avengers set the record, TDK beat it. . . I could see a bunch of Avenger/Marvel nerds just downloading this thing multiples times to beat TDK and set the record again (These are comic/internet fans afterall). I bet Someones gonna give Avengers a 9.5/10 and Sketch is gonna be like "OMG! This is bullshit! They're letting DC fanboys write the reviews and they're skewing the numbers! This movie is a 10 not a 9.5 and everyone knows it! Waaaaaaaaaaah!"
Well mainly tongue-in-cheek on the last part, but the first part super serious. Like what if someone with a dynamic IP downloaded the trailer multiple times throughout the day to view it (Maybe a blogger looking for information hidden in the trailer to post or just a diehard fan). Say he downloaded it 5 times throughout the day. Was that counted as 1 download or 5? How does Apple track trailer downloads?
Whatever the case, they'd be tracking Avengers trailer downloads the same way they tracked The Dark Knight Returns trailer downloads. :B
i heard that they have a group of 10 individuals logging IP addressed and counting the downloads 1 by 1. is that what you want to hear?
Dark Avengers or Thunderbolts would be such an awesome sequel for this movie if it wasn't impossible due to licensing. The only people I think they could use would be Moonstone and Sentry. Can't think of anyone else who isn't licensed to Sony/Fox.
